Background: Hypoglycemia is defined as a blood sugar less than 4mmol/l. It is defined clinically in the presence of Whipple’s triad, characterized by signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia, low plasma glucose and reversal of symptoms on correction of hypoglycemia.
